Branding the Revolution vs Branding the Evolution
Revolutions happen quickly, overthrowing the existing system. Evolutions happen incrementally transforming the existing system
In the aftermath of the election, Democratic think tanks are coming around to what I have been messaging for years, thanks to a little help from Donald Trump and his constant companion Elon Musk and a nominated cabinet filled with billionaires. What could be more symbolically blatant than the richest man in the world heading up a fake government department to manage the government budget (supposedly), a job that the Constitution assigns to Congress?
Like George Washington chopping down the cherry tree, Musk’s idea is to metaphorically take an ax and chop the government to bits, except those parts of government that finance his businesses. We are no longer a late-stage centrally managed economy. We are now entering the post rule of law society.
The government prints money, which is the means of cultural economic exchange, and then distributes the newly minted dollars into the economy by spending it. It is the government’s role to manage the channels through which currency flows into the economy. The government can manage the current to benefit the few or it can manage the currency to flow everywhere so that all parts of society have access to the means to achieve their various ends.
The act of destroying the current government infrastructure through which currency is distributed into the economy is sold to the American public as a plan to lower the federal deficit. The local MAGA crowd swallows this messaging whole without any analysis as their attention is focused on the joy of seeing masses of people who are different from them deported but It doesn’t take much math to calculate the added costs of deportation and conclude that lowering costs is not the purpose. Trump has declared, heroically in the eyes of his loyalists, that deporting 11 million undocumented individuals has no price limit but the price tag has been estimated by the American Immigration Council at over 88 billion dollars annually, and $967.9 billion over more than ten years. The estimate does not take into account the loss of tax revenue from workers and the cost to businesses of losing labor.
We live in a wealth redistribution society that for decades has been progressively bifurcating into an ownership class working class divide under the rubric of the trickle-down economy. The source of wealth is productivity. Currency is that part of the wealth-creation infrastructure comparable to vehicles that travel the highway through which the means of exchange that facilitates productivity are distributed throughout society. It is the role of the federal government to issue currency into circulation by spending it. Cutting the budget is to chop down the cherry tree of the existing government, in other words, a revolution that exchanges one form of government for another. Quickly.
I am sure my reader has heard on the news of ideas for axing the Department of Education, Health, and Defense, cut back on Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, Veteran’s Benefits, food stamps, and any program that benefits the folks who will have to suffer temporary hardship for the sake of future prosperity. Elon never says where that prosperity will come from and whom it will benefit. Did we say we wanted him to cut all the government programs that benefit the people? Where did he come from? He just popped up in the last days of the election, jumping and screaming on the stage like a rock star and in those last days of the election Musk funded the Trump campaign with 277 million dollars which did not get reported in the media until after the election, an investment which has shown immediate returns for Elon’s prosperity:

And so a gunshot expresses the civil discontent of the people who are assessed as an indistinguishable mass of peons by the overlord society of billionaires currently nominated by our first felon-president to run our government.
In a recent post, I interjected the idea that it is time to consider the UBI, but I haven’t heard a peep of a response about this from Elon! What does one have to do to get one’s voice heard? Kill someone? It seems to be so and if you are good-looking with a physique like a Trump meme, you will be widely celebrated for doing it. What is America becoming?
The local MAGA crowd habitually complains about government subsidies going to the cost of living expenses for folks and appears oblivious to subsidies going to billionaires like Musk. Well, thank you, Musk, for bringing this fact out of the dark corners of the universe so we can all watch it in action, not that MAGA seems to be taking it in.
The local MAGA crowd remains fixated on Hunter Biden and temporarily giving their witch hunt against America’s undocumented workers a rest.
Some are now glamorizing the young man who shot the United Health Care CEO in the back and are turning the killer into a folk hero. Much is made about the shooter’s good looks, emphasizing the superficiality of contemporary culture. The shooter is well-read and is described as thoughtful but something mysterious seems to have been happening to him over recent months that remains unexplained. Once he might have channeled his talents into a productive career but now it’s his looks that matter for their great marketing potential as the avatar of the discontented masses. Luigi Mangione’s singular act of murder has instantly propelled him into fame with speed far beyond what the development of his thinking mind could have done. As an individual, his life is permanently transformed but individual lives are of no import to the larger forces that manipulate the public narrative.
The following post on Facebook received abundant support from those who chose the rule of violence over the rule of law and are readily willing to use a hapless individual to advance a greater good cause against the large institutional forces using another greater good cause to advance their profits.
Support for vigilante justice appears to be coming from the left creating a new political faction that can only be defined as lawlessness justified for any reason.
While composing this post, I listened to a pitch for AI marketing. The pitch advocates for the speed with which all the processes of marketing can be completed by using AI. I found the presentation boring and turned down the volume so I could work on this post while it played in the background.
While I seek to discover where my voice is leading, the pitch tells me that I can instruct AI to write in any author’s voice. That’s nice, AI can write in any author’s voice but can’t create a new one! The writing work process is about discovering where my thoughts are leading. AI can’t do that. It doesn’t think and least of all does it think my thoughts. I am the only one who can do that. My writing process isn’t fast. I have been working on this post for days. The pitch is telling me that by using AI I can produce marketing material at great speed and in great volume and that will increase my sales dramatically
It took years to establish my family’s foundational brand, Andersen Design, founded by taking the path less traveled and what emerged couldn’t have been established any other way. I want to stick with that. The world needs alternatives to the mass culture which is showing strong indications of being in the midst of a mental breakdown.
The national story continues to unfold, revealing a growing culture of acceptable violence and immense public anger toward the healthcare industry.
