While "these 'TIMES' they are a-changing", the long arc of history curving toward, rather than away from, the natural human liberalism of Love over Money can't be denied.
However, we better listen to this advice of "Strategic Advantage” [Michael Porter HBS] which is worth much more than the vast wasteland of political contributions.
Hopefully, assurances and thoughts reflected in these double-sided demonstration signs, which have evolved over years of social political-economic thinking — may enhance our evolution:
LOVE
OVER
VIOLENT
EMPIRE
and on the other side:
LOVE OVER
POWER, MONEY
HATE & EMPIRE
I continually do ad-hoc focus-group testing in Maine and New Hampshire (with 90%+ favorable), and have just printed these newest double-sided Campaign-signs for our November Mid-Term Election:
SOCIALIZING
CREATES
LOVE
and on the other side:
CAPITALISM
ENFORCES
EMPIRE
All of which leads to the confidence — that the first Party to 'Choose' violence, will 'Lose’.
Peter [Baker], it certainly looks from your reporting, like Biden's primary 'strategery', akin to Dubya Bush, is to 'gin-up' the next war, eh?
Heck, we got two former Navy Admirals, ex-CIA'er John Kirby and Mad Mike Mullen appearing on ABC's "This Week".
We got two Ranking Senators; Bob Menendez, Democrat of New Jersey chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois, the second-ranking Democrat, both ready and willing to 'take action' at the behest of Democratic President Biden.
As you reported, Peter:
"With midterm elections approaching, here’s where President Biden stands.
Diplomatic Limits: OPEC’s decision to curb oil production has exposed the failure of President Biden’s fist-bump diplomacy with the crown prince of Saudi Arabia.
Defending Democracy: Mr. Biden’s drive to buttress democracy at home and abroad has taken on more urgency by the persistent power of China, Russia and former 'faux' President Trump."
Along with:
"The anger at Saudi Arabia in Washington was exacerbated in the last couple of days by Russia’s latest airstrikes against civilian targets across Ukraine. Democrats increasingly framed the dispute with Saudi Arabia less in terms of concern over domestic gas prices in a campaign season and more about the kingdom’s willingness to aid Mr. Putin’s aggression."
As Major Kong [Slim Pickens] said in 1964 Dr. Strangelove:
My response to Biden's comment about how close we are to nuclear ammegeddon was to recall that Biden announced that Putin was going to invade Ukraine, the day before Putin invaded Ukraine, so I had to consider that Biden knows something that we do not, as he did then. In the event that Putin plays the nuclear card, war is unavoidable but it would be better to stop Putin before he does that.
The Ukranian people are amazing. I would say that have the love card but they still must use the violence card.

The Republican Party made it clear that it choses violence on January six.
YES, they picked the wrong duck at the carnival.
One thing to puck the wrong duck, another to try enforce his power by violent means.
